Lalla Moulati  is a popular Gnawa song that glorifies women and presents the richness of female identities in North Africa and the Middle East.  The song was recorded by Moktar Gania and the gnawa Soul for their latest album at Planet Essaouira Studios and at Studio Estwanat Hai in Jerusalem, musically produced by Amit Hai Cohen and features Neta Elkayam, a multi-disciplinary  artist of North African Jewish origin. 

Neta added her own words to the song in which she calls for freedom for women all over the world!

 

About a year after the release of the song, the participants met in Essaouira  at the studio of the artist Najia Mehadji for the filming of the music video directed by Amit Hai Cohen and the result is here and out now!
